The SmartGuard Adult Gel Donut (GELDA), sized at 8”OD x 3”ID x 1.75”H, is designed to stabilize and support the patient's head while minimizing the risk of pressure injuries. Its ergonomic design allows easy access to surgical sites in the head and neck area.

Key advantages include:

  • Gel positioners maintain shape under the patient's weight to provide a more consistent support surface and pressure distribution compared to foam positioners.

  • No-slip backing

  • Radiolucent, latex-free gel maintains imaging clarity and patient safety.

  • Can be heated and cooled. See general case and use guide for more details.

  • OR-durable reuse: Recommended to be used with AMD's impervious headrest cover for infection control benefits but can be used without. Should be cleaned & disinfected with hospital-approved alcohol-free disinfectants after every use.
